Understanding Sikhism - Core Beliefs and Traditions

The earliest recorded Sikh in Australia dates back to 1844 (Dabee Singh), who used to live in Brisbane. It is believed that Sikhs have been coming to Australia since the early 1800s, however larger waves of men started after 1880. The SIkh population of Australia was quite small compared to Canada, UK, and USA until of recent times. In 2006 the population was at roughly 26,000 however shot up to 125,000 by 2016. Majority of Australia's Sikh population constitutes of 'students' and their families
