#OTD in 1944, USS Missouri (BB-63) was launched. The "Mighty Mo" would become the last battleship commissioned by the U.S. Navy and later serve as the platform upon which Japan surrendered. She was decommissioned in 1955, recommissioned in 1986 and decommissioned again in 1992. | U.S. Naval Institute
